COMPARISONS AND COMPARATIVES



Equal Comparisons, Unequal Comparisons, Double Comparatives, And Superlative
1.      Equal Comparisons : Imply that two or more entities are equal in a way.
Example :
·         Ajeng is as kind as Rina
·         Lia is as crazy as Bayu
·         Rini not as Lazy as Elsa

2.      Unequal Comparisons : Imply that two or more entities are comparable to a greater or lesser degree.
Example :
·         Gili Trawangan is more beautiful than Ancol
·         Kerinci mountain is taller than marapi mountain
·         Indonesia is not more famous than Bali

3.      Double Comparatives : are phrases commonly used in English to express increasing or decreasing returns.
Example :
·         The brighter the sun, the happier i feel  
·         The faster they finish it, the sooner they will go home
·         The more you study, the more cleverer you will become

4.      Superlatives : to say what thing or person has the most of a particular quality within a group or of its kind.
Example :
·         Jupiter is the biggest planet in our Solar System
·         Jurrasic World is the greatest movie ever
·         Harry Potter is the most interesting book i have ever read
